Among centuries-old battlements eroded by time and stones evoking memories preserved in the Polo Museológico de Salir, thousands of visitors wander annually through the streets and alleys of the village of Salir. They are traditionally three magical nights featuring stalls and market traders spread across the hillside, never without gastronomy and entertainment evoking other times and the cultural diversity that shaped the lives of men and women during the Middle Ages. Food is served on wooden boards, while drinks are always consumed in clay cups. Among the gastronomic highlights are sandwiches and platters of spit-roasted pork.

The entertainment includes an annual jousting tournament on horseback, several concerts of Arabic music (including belly dancing), theatrical re-enactments of episodes from the Reconquista period, and historical processions. There are also itinerant performers in period costume: troubadours, jesters, jugglers and people of the common folk, clergy and nobility, all contributing to the recreation of the atmosphere of those times.

Another highlight of the fair is the medieval market, featuring craftspeople from various trades (including basketry) and producers of dried fruits, honey and cork.
